What Di wants for the next generation:
Hello Appleseed Community!
My greatest hope for the next generation is simply - connection.
I hope the next generation forms a connection with nature.
That they can see the patterns that are evident in the world and it’s creatures, and that these patterns are innately part of them too. I hope that by observing, and being with nature, they come to understand how marvellous it is, and that since they are part of it, they too are marvellous.
I hope that they form a connection with themselves.
That they strive to know themselves deeply and look for ways to dive into the core of who they are. I hope that they explore their passions and hold on to their sense of curiosity through their childhood, and into their adult life. I hope that they know that everything they need, is inside of them, and that they understand that what makes them stand out, is what makes them special.
I hope that they form a connection with community.
That they see the strength in people coming together for things that they believe in. I hope they quickly learn the importance of compassion for the people, environment, and the creatures that surround them. I hope they find or create a space where they can be themselves, build trust, and find comfort.
Connection, above all, is what I wish for the next generation, which is why I believe in teaching Yoga (deriving from a Sanskrit word meaning to yolk or unite) to our children."
With Love,
